Biography
Over the last two years Reubin has proven his total commitment to surfing again and again with a string of podium results, finishing second in the the British Open in 2007 and finishing with an overall British standing of thrid place.
2005 saw the Headworx man establish himself as the most exciting competition surfer in Britain. A super-charged string of performances on the BPSA Tour saw Reubin take the British Professional title for the first time. Surfing like a man on a mission, Reubin conducted a masterclass in top-to-bottom power surfing wherever he went. In 2006, Reubin again led the tour for the entire year, only to miss out on his second title by one place in the final event. Reubin’s rare mix of consistency, a professional attitude to competition and insane surfing makes him an ever-present on the British and European circuit and a favourite to challenge on the WQS next year.
Reubin’s committed attitude stands him apart as a unique personality at events, and his powerful and uncompromising style in the water has earnt him huge respect in his adopted home country since he moved to the UK in 2001. In 2005, Reubs took two of the six legs on the BPSA, as well as the coveted BPSA Champion of Champions title in Sri Lanka. In 2006, he continued this threat reaching four out of the seven BPSA tour finals. Reubin has consistently turned harder and pulled in deeper than anyone to show us all he really wants to be here. The judges tend to agree, and Reubs turned heads and lenses at sessions all over the UK from Fistral and Leven to Thurso and Brimms Ness.
A true gent, at Headworx we feel that Strawbs is truly one of the family, and since signing for the new team back in April 2005, Reubin has banished the demons of repeated runner-up results to find total focus in his surfing.
